Tsai-Wen Yang is an expert in information laws. Her practices include data protection, copyright, cross-border e-commerce and regulatory consultations about issues arising in corporate digital transformation.

Tsai-Wen has assisted numerous clients, including government agencies, retailer, and financial institutions to comply with Personal Data Protection Act, by conducting detailed data flow reviews, compliance gap diagnoses and execution of proposed ad justments. In consumer protection area, Tsai-Wen has regularly handled terms and agreement drafting, and advice clients to prevent from illicit behavior when operating the membership program through rewards and gifts. Based on the experience in Electronic Signature and regulations regarding electronic payment, Tsai-Wen has assisted clients in retailer and live-streaming industries to clarify and establish the cooperation framework with their local partners.

In copyright area, Tsai-wen has assisted production companies for movie and reality television shows to deal with contracts related to investment, joint venture, performance of talent, merchandising and content license. Tsai-wen also advised public museums to audit the copyright of their collections.

Tsai-Wen is a litigator and transactional attorney, educated and admit- ted to the bar in New York and Taiwan. Tsai-wen is recognized by the Legal 500, a leading international law firm ranking research and publication service based in London, as a “recommended lawyer” for Telecommunication, Media & Technology practice in Taiwan. As a litigator, Tsai-Wen’ s practice encompasses a wide range of dispute involving IP laws, including copyright, trademark infringement, and malperformance of contract regarding the building and deployment of large-scale information system, such as ERP and AI-based CRM systems. Tsai-Wen is qualified to practice in Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English and Taiwanese.

  • Assisted a renowned live-streaming platform in developing its brand licensing agreement with international partners.
  • Assisted a publicly traded company in Taiwan in conducting an investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of trade secrets and successfully reached a settlement with the party responsible for the disclosure.
