Professional Information


Kayla Hu joined our firm in 2024.

Before joining Innovatus Law, Kayla worked at KPMG Law as an intern lawyer and associate, where she assisted with civil and commercial legal consultation, corporate legal compliance, and drafted and reviewed  contracts and legal opinions written in Chinese or English.

During her studies at Soochow University, Kayla was selected for the Taiwan Youth Base Program and interned at the A&Z Law Firm in the Jing’an District of Shanghai, China. During her internship, she primarily assisted with transaction matters related to medical devices and pharmaceuticals, and was also responsible for assisting Shanghai lawyers to understand the differences and similarities in financial laws of Taiwan and China.

Additionally, in 2019, Kayla interned at the Department of Treaty and Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she participated in the review and proofreading of international treaties, assisted in planning for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24), and supported various tasks related to the National Day reception for foreign guests. She also served as an assistant of Professor Ming-Shiou, Cherng in a research project mandated by the Mainland Affairs Council, assisting with project execution, teaching, and administrative duties.

  • Assisting a UK pharmaceutical manufacturer to dispose certain assets and equities in Taiwan.
  • Assisting a local bank with the legal compliance review of their app updates.
  • Assisting an electronics company with legal analysis and research related to the protection of intellectual property rights.
  • Assisting a financial industry client in implementing the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS).
