Innovatus Law is ranked as an Asia Pacific leading firm by Legal 500

Taipei, Taiwan, 14 January 2022 – Legal 500, one of the most reputable institutions analyzing the capabilities of law firms across the world and publishing rankings based on its assessment of strengths of law firms in 150-plus jurisdictions, published its 2022 Asia Pacific, Taiwan Chapter rankings. Innovatus Law is pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year, the firm’s individual lawyers and practice groups are recognized in Legal 500 rankings.

 

The firm’s practice groups are ranked in three practice areas: Dispute Resolution, Corporate and M&A, and Intellectual Property. The firm is also nominated as a “Firm to Watch” in TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecom) area. The firm’s partner Jamie C. Yang is again recognized in “Leading Individual” category for her works in Intellectual Property practice, and five other lawyers of the firm are mentioned in Legal 500’s editorial sections.

 

Legal 500 praised the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice group as “[b]eyond its core competencies in white collar crime and corporate control disputes, the team boasts niche expertise in family business disputes and conflict avoidance strategies”, and Practice head / partner-in-charge Derek T.C. Sun “routinely handles work for clients in electricity, energy, and infrastructure”, while Eve Tsai focuses on “commercial and competition litigation in the high-tech sector for both domestic and US-listed companies.”

 

Legal 500 notes that the firm’s Corporate and M&A practice group is known for “its core expertise in cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and inbound financings” and “routinely handles a host of corporate and commercial matters for angel and venture capital investors … with recent highlights including Taipei Exchange IPOs and acquisitions for semiconductor manufacturers”, and the Intellectual Property practice group “draws on [Dora Chiang’s] public policy background to actively contribute to various Ministry of Culture projects regarding IP strategy.”
